It was a lovely sunny day, there were over three hundred people at the event. Guests were entertained by air display, parachuting and a lady sang 1940 songs (and Robin joined her for two songs, sang 1940 not BG’s songs).
Robin was there of course with wife Dwina in the beautiful gardens of their Oxfordshire home, a magnificent 13th century residence.
This was a special afternoon which the Heritage Foundation had organised in aid of the Bomber Command Memorial campaign.
According to fans Robin sang without any rehearsal during this tea party event. The lyrics where given to him a few minutes previously. Fans mentioned to have been very surprised by his spontaneous singing. These videos show his performance:
