–Â Robin Gibb was a leading figure in the campaign to create the Bomber Command Memorial in London, which he saw as a personal mission to honor the RAF’s World War II airmen. He rallied support from friends in the music industry, and the memorial was unveiled in Green Park by Queen Elizabeth II in June 2012, just after his death. Robin Gibb served as the longstanding president of the memorial’s heritage foundation, and the Bomber Command Association expressed their gratitude for his commitment.
–Â Robin described the project as a “personal mission” and called the airmen “heroes to me”. He campaigned for years to ensure the Memorial would become a reality, stating it was “repugnant” that there had not been a permanent Memorial in central London for so long.
– The Bomber Command Association presented Dwina Gibb with a small bronze replica of one of the statues at the Memorial in Green Park. We are honoured to now have this replica statue  on display at Thame Museum.
