In memory of my friend noboday was like me

Sound Fragment: “The Bridge”
Dear Maurice, You’ll never be far away
When Mo’s kids grew up they became interested in music too and it’s wonderful to know that in the years before Maurice died he had a chance to work with Sam and Adam on some very nice musical projects. One of the songs they made together is “The Bridge” from 1999, where Maurice sings and plays with his son Adam and daughter Sam. It’s a wonderful song with beautiful lyrics and a fave of many fans including of Mo’s friend Frederic. However not released (yet) Frederic told GSI: ‘this song is too good not to share with all the fans. I never get tired of it.’

The Bridge will finally be released (early 2010) as one of the tracks on disc 3
(the Maurice Gibb disc) of the Mythology box set.

“THE BRIDGE”

When I was young I dreamed of you
Far and away my dreams come through
Now I know what love has done
Children of mine we all are one

When I was young I looked at you
You were the world I never knew
Through the years we all have grown
Knowing your love forever strong

Would you walk away if I raised my voice
Do you think I taught you well
Time after time after time

In younger days I felt for you
With all the pain that we went through
We believe the one above
Father and son forever love

Hand in hand the future is here
Now that we crossed the bridge of tears
Finding truth and facing fears
We can walk on the road is clear

Walk across the bridge
Take my hand
Walk across the bridge
Come to me

Would you walk away if I raised my voice
Do you think I taught you well
Time after time after time

Walk across the bridge
Come to me
Walk across the bridge

You’ll never be far away
You’ll never be far away
You’ll never be far away
